October Program (CANCELLED):
CCPA, GDPR, and Evolving Data Privacy Requirements

Speaker: Jonah Jimenez, IGS – Active Navigation

No doubt you’ve seen cookies on websites asking for tracking consent, along with a host of other privacy notices – all thanks to the EU’s law on data protection and privacy – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Over a year has passed since GDPR went into effect, and we continue to hear about the challenges of complying with this demanding data privacy legislation. With the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) going into effect January 1, 2020, organizations are under mounting pressure to protect consumer data.

With so many data privacy laws on the horizon (Texas, Utah and New York to name a few), companies need to be prepared to meet increasingly stringent data privacy regulations. During this talk, learn how Active Navigation’s Discovery Center can help with compliance by automating the mapping, classifying, cleaning and deleting of sensitive, risky data.

About our Speaker: Jonah is an Sales Executive at Active Navigation and a certified Information Governance Specialist (IGS). During his tenure at Active Navigation, Jonah has assisted organizations in activities and objectives including enterprise-wide data discovery, data clean-up, sensitive data discovery and remediation, records retention modification and ongoing information governance. Specializing in file analysis implementation, he provides guidance to organizations for project best practices to facilitated defensible disposition and executable outputs. Jonah holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from The Catholic University of America.
