Our big event on December 13th is shaping up to be a lot of fun! We will hold our annual auction with some amazing auction items, a fun ‘murder mystery’ themed activity, and an educational program on cleaning out those share drives from Leslie Turner (FreeDoc)!
We could use some help with bringing in local donations for our Annual Holiday Auction in December, which helps benefit our scholarship programs throughout the year for our chapter.
Please see the template letter below and feel free to download and send it out to at least 10 local area businesses.
Help spread the holiday cheer and make our Auction one of the best we’ve had! (To request the original Word template document, please contact the Puget Sound Chapter board and we will be happy to provide it.)
Those of you who attended our September 2017 program learned how Pinterest can be an important tool for agencies and groups (like ARMA chapters) to connect with existing audience and reach out to new groups and potential members or customers.
ARMA Puget Sound Chapter Board members Karen Hague, Audrey Houston, and Susan Haigh just set up a Pinterest account for our own chapter, where we will post things like tools and tips, ARMA events, and ‘RIM-shots’ of humor, just for fun!
Check it out, share a pin or two, try out this newfangled (to most of us) tool, and help spread the word about ARMA and the Puget Sound Chapter!
** Please note the location for our October 11 meeting has been moved to downtown Tacoma** Address and directions are available on the program details/registration page.
Compliance with the Public Records Act and managing the ever growing hoard of digital records can feel like a monumental task. However, it doesn’t have to be. To tackle it successfully you need to shift your entire organization’s thinking.
Join the Puget Sound Chapter of ARMA in Tacoma on October 11th, where Whitney Stevens will discuss current technology tools available to most agencies, the risks of ignoring the problem, and how you can provide a starting framework to build success in your team.

Welcome Back! I trust you all had a wonderful summer and enjoyed your vacations.
We held a Board transition meeting in June and your new Board is listed below. Our goal for the new year is to increase meeting attendance by 15%. Last year our goal was to increase membership and we achieved that goal!
From ARMA International: If you cannot participate in ARMA Live! 2017 in Orlando, you can still take part in the ARMA Flipped sessions.
Attend the August 29 sessions or view them on-demand, and then use the handouts to facilitate a follow-up workshop with your ARMA chapter or your department to apply what you’ve learned. Invite a local expert to facilitate the face-to-face workshop, or lead it yourself!
These “flipped” sessions are four web seminars with live text chat, SMEs, and solution providers, occuring in a virtual exhibit hall. (Anyone with a full conference registration will be automatically registered for ARMA Flipped!)
Here’s a list of the August 29 sessions:
