The Great Northwest Region of ARMA International is seeking speakers for our 2018 conference that will be held on April 5-6, 2018 (Thursday and Friday). The 2018 theme is Breaking Bad Barriers: Element of Success, and our our hope is that this motif can be interpreted in many exciting topics and presentations.
We would like to encourage you to submit a presentation proposal. Especially if you have you successfully completed a project that you would like to highlight; have you broken barriers in your organization that you would like to share; have you found elements of success with your collaborative partners. Speakers will have waived registration fee for one day of the conference-the day of your presentation. The venue is the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel, 16500 Southcenter Pkwy, Seattle, WA 98188.

The ARMA International Education Foundation (AIEF) is currently seeking up to six researchers to work on a freelance basis on the Industry in One” series.
Each paper will identify the state of information management within the industry, highlighting records management in a condensed report (25-30 pages) for each of the following initial industries to be addressed: energy, finance, and legal. A report is to be generated for each topic by a subject matter expert (SME) to provide distinct United States and Canadian perspectives.

If you are a current member of ARMA International be sure and set up your new log in and profile at www.arma.org. The member directory (which was a feature of the old site, but not used widely) is much more prominent. By default the directory includes most (if not all) of the contact info you provided to ARMA – email, phone, and more. You can customize what information is shown to other ARMA members in the directory through your account. It’s definitely worth getting your account set up so you can see what is available and update your profile.
Get the most out of your community by connecting with fellow members and sharing content. You can post multiple photos and share articles with ease. We’re excited to use some of these new tools and hope they will help us connect and get the most out of our memberships!

Not only is the new year fast approaching… so is ARMA International’s new website!
During the first week of December, members will receive a personalized e-mail from ARMA containing your new unique username and password, which you will need to access the new ARMA.org website.
Scheduled to launch in mid-December, it promises a new look and feel that will bring easier navigation and access to the tools and resources that are so important to your career.
What you need to do now:
Complete any in-process online education
Because the transition will also include a new learning management system (LMS), all online courses or sessions you have begun but not completed MUST be finished by 11:59 p.m. (CST) on Friday, December 8. Don’t worry; all your completed online education and credits will transfer over to the new LMS. But, since your partially finished education will not transfer, you must act now to complete it.
Watch for your new member login
Once the new site is launched, you will no longer use your e-mail address as your user name for your MyARMA account. During the first week of December you will receive a personalized e-mail from ARMA containing your new unique username and password, which you will need to access the new website. After logging into the new site, you will be able to change your password. (Your current information will work up until the date of the launch.)
ARMA seems excited to be delivering soon the change they have talked about for quite some time. Current ARMA members will receive more info from ARMA International’s headquarters soon.

This session is about locating the dead bodies, calling in “the cleaner”, building your evidence, sending the bodies to the morgue and performing a final disposition … defensibly.

Formerly the in-resident “records goddess” for the Washington State Archives with over 14 years of government records management and public disclosure experience, she is now the in-resident “records goddess” for FreeDoc, as their Public Records Administration Consultant.

Our big event on December 13th is shaping up to be a lot of fun! We will hold our annual auction with some amazing auction items, a fun ‘murder mystery’ themed activity, and an educational program on cleaning out those share drives from Leslie Turner (FreeDoc)!

We could use some help with bringing in local donations for our Annual Holiday Auction in December, which helps benefit our scholarship programs throughout the year for our chapter.
